Choosing the right size rug for your room. Next to colour and style the size of an area rug is a critical choice. A common reason for rugs being returned to our stores and exchanged, is that they were too small. There are no hard and fast rules for choosing rug size. However the size of rug will have a dramatic effect on the way your room looks and feels. Generally, a larger rug will have a more unifying effect in most rooms. It will also make a room look larger, more luxurious and comfortable. About 12 in. of space between the rug and walls is a good guideline. This will allow for any heat ducts.
